Every researcher deserves tools that feel like an extension of their own curiosity—not obstacles to it. At Navson, we design and support a full spectrum of lab equipment with one goal: make your day-to-day easier, so you can spend more time asking, “what if?” and less time wrestling with settings. From sample prep to automation and data capture, our instruments are built to be intuitive, dependable, and backed by people who understand the highs—and the hurdles—of discovery. Let us handle the details, so you can focus on what really matters: advancing science.

Navson began in 2016 in a Plasmonics lab led by Dr. VHS Moorthy. Noticing that standard Coating Equipment often needed more durability and smoother operation, a small group of researchers designed their own prototype. Working together across departments, they gradually reduced vibration, strengthened the drive system, and fine-tuned each component.

Their careful development led to the first commercial Navson spin coater, which by mid-2019 had reached labs around the world. That same collaborative, hands-on approach continues to guide us today—so every Navson instrument you use feels reliable, precise, and easy to operate.

Dr. Achanta Venugopal: An experimental physicist and Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), now serves as Director of the CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (NPL). With dual Ph.D. credentials in Physics (TIFR, Mumbai) and Electronics (University of Tokyo), his pioneering research in nanophotonics, single-molecule spectroscopy, and metrology has earned him fellowship of the Optical Society of America and election to the International Committee for Weights and Measures.

As a founding advisor to Navson, Dr. Venugopal has been instrumental in shaping our strategic vision. He guided the team to capitalize on its core strengths—precision engineering and user-centered design—while encouraging a culture of rigorous testing and continuous improvement. His mentorship has not only refined our technical roadmap but also inspired our young entrepreneurs to pursue bold, research-driven innovations. Thanks to his thoughtful counsel and unwavering support, Navson is poised to set new benchmarks in coating systems and become an indispensable partner in laboratories worldwide.

V. V. Rajasekhar: An entrepreneur at heart who saw a persistent challenge in research labs – the lack of lab equipment built by someone who truly understands a scientist’s needs. Though not trained in a traditional research setting, he immersed himself in the world of nanotechnology—partnering with leading experts and spending countless hours in labs to understand the depths of perspectives needed to design experimental equipment.

Driven by a passion to bridge the gap between science and practical instrumentation, he led Navson from a concept into a recognized provider of coating systems. His fresh viewpoint led to simple, intuitive designs that streamline complex protocols and stand up to daily use. Today, Navson products reflect his focus on reliability, ease of use, and thoughtful engineering—and they’re helping researchers around the world get straight to work that matters. Under his leadership, Navson has grown into a company where innovation is born from collaboration, and every product reflects his commitment to quality, durability, and user-first engineering.

Today, researchers around the globe rely on Navson equipment—built not by academics alone, but by an entrepreneur who understands that great science deserves great tools.
